Select Winter Conferences each year offer financial support to participants. The Scientific Organizers from each conference apply to various grants, which, if awarded, can be used to reimburse participants for travel, lodging, and in some rare cases, registration fees. In the case that a grant is awarded, participants will be notified and instructed to turn in their receipts to the front desk for a reimbursement check. We are unable to guarantee financial support at the time of acceptance, however, so please do not email asking if there will be support given. We will let you know once as soon as we can, and in most cases, this is the week of the conference.
Past Winter Conferences have been supported by the Moore Foundation, Institute for Complex Adaptive Matter (ICAM), Army Research Office (ARO), Google, National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST/JILA), Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), Department of Energy (DOE), Los Alamos National Lab (LANL), National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL), North American ALMA Science Center (NAASC), Simons Foundation/Flatiron Institute, Joint Quantum Institute (JQI), Heising-Simons Foundation, Burroughs Wellcome Fund, Office of Naval Research (ONR), Royal Astronomical Society (RAS), Universities Research Association (URA), and NASA, to name a few.
One promising young scientist attending each Winter Conference will receive the Block Scholarship Award, which is typically awarded the last day of the conference. Learn more here.
Aspen Center for Physics encourages participants, especially those early in their careers, those with families, and those from underrepresented groups, institutions, and countries, to apply for our summer program. Learn about financial support for summer participants here.
