Meet Our Physicists

Fiona Burnell has been a Professor in the Physics department at the University of Minnesota since the fall of 2013. Before that, she was a post-doctoral fellow at All Souls college in Oxford after completing her PhD from Princeton.  Her interests focus on the interplay between symmetry and topology in strongly interacting quantum many-body systems, both open and closed. Originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, she loves mountains and the outdoors.
