Emily Taylor

Communications and Development Manager

Emily Taylor serves as the Communications and Development Manager at the Aspen Center for Physics, bringing a blend of expertise in outreach, development, and a lifelong passion for science and art. She holds a B.A. from Pomona College, where she majored in Studio Art. During her time at Pomona, Emily found a unique intersection between art and physics in her favorite course, “The Physics of Musical Instruments,” which inspired her senior thesis show, featuring musical instruments she designed and built. Her fascination with physics began in high school, leading her to be one of four American students to attend the “International Summer School for Young Physicists” at Perimeter Institute in 2004.

Emily’s professional journey includes roles as the Executive Director of the Woody Creek Community Center, a non-profit founded by George Stranahan, and as Marketing Director at the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES). In addition to her work with ACP, Emily is dedicated to her community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Aspen Fire Protection District. She remains passionate about art, the environment, and leveraging her diverse background to foster connection and support for ACP’s mission.
