Clare Yu
Trustee
Clare Yu is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Aspen Center for Physics and a Chancellor’s Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of California, Irvine. She received her Ph.D. in Physics at Princeton University and did postdoctoral work at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and at Los Alamos National Laboratory. She is a theoretical physicist who does research in condensed matter physics and biophysics. She has studied a wide variety of topics including disordered systems and glasses at low temperatures, phase transitions, noise, superconductors and superconducting qubits, strongly correlated electron systems, developmental biology, intracellular transport and cancer. She is a fellow of the American Physical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
