IN MEMORIAM
Assa Auerbach

Professor Assa Auerbach was a leading scientist of high international standing in the field of theoretical condensed matter physics. He mentored many students and postdocs at Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, who went on to become faculty members in Israel and abroad. He is the author of “Interacting Electrons and Quantum Magnetism”, which is used in physics graduate courses worldwide. His research has opened new directions in the field.
He served as a General Member at Aspen Center for Physics from 2006 – 2016 and participated in many volunteer committees, including the Admissions Committee, Summer Public Lectures Committee, Nominations Committee, Diversity Committee, and Summer Program Committee. He will be greatly missed.
